Dr Walter Thomas is a Senior Research Fellow of the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia and after 11 years as Head of the Molecular Endocrinology laboratory at the Baker Heart Research Institute, relocated to the University of Queensland as the Chair of General Physiology in the School of Biomedical Sciences in February 2008. His research focuses on the molecular pharmacology of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) that represent the largest receptor superfamily in our genome.
