Associate Professor Peter Noakes, of the School of Biomedical Sciences and Queensland Brain Institute, will speak on the subject of 'highlights in the making and breaking of the neuromotor system' on Wednesday 19 October as part of QBI's regular seminar series.

Associate Professor Noakes will discuss the regulation of pre and post-synaptic development of neuromuscular synapse and tease out a role for central synaptic activity on the regulation of motor neuron numbers and morphology. A novel role of complement in the breakdown of neuromotor system will also be define as seen through its contribution to the progression of motor neuron disease in animal models.
